Signals at railway crossings and level crossings
Y1 Flashing red light
Stop! Road users may not cross the stop line, or if there is no such line, the signal itself. The light signal consists of two light openings at the same height, alternately flashing red, and a triangular screen with rounded corners and the tip pointing downward. The screen may also have a white border. Below the red light openings, there may be a circular light opening emitting flashing white light to make the crossing more visible. Turn off the engine to reduce emissions, especially during long waits.
Y2 Audible warning signal
Stop! When the audible signal is heard, you may not proceed. The signal is often used together with barriers or flashing lights at level crossings.
Y3 Barrier
The barrier indicates that the road is completely or partially closed. Barriers are often equipped with reflectors, lights, or text to increase visibility. The text "Kör genom bommen" (Drive through the barrier) may appear on the back.
Y4 Level crossing marker
This marker is used to make railway crossings easier to detect. It is adapted to the conditions at the location and may be horizontal.
