Priority signs
B1 Give way
The sign indicates that you must give way to traffic on the intersecting road. It is placed as close to the intersection as possible and can be supplemented with additional panels indicating the distance to the obligation to give way or a potential stop obligation. If all connecting roads in an intersection have an obligation to give way, this is shown with a special additional panel. Remember to adjust your speed in good time to be able to stop if necessary.
B2 Obligation to stop
The sign indicates that you must always come to a complete stop before entering the intersecting road or railway, even if there is no traffic nearby. The stop obligation applies where safety is especially important, like in poor visibility. In intersections where all entrances have a stop obligation, a special additional panel is used. Remember to stop at the stop line or, if such line is missing, at the sign.
B3 Pedestrian crossing
The sign marks a pedestrian crossing where you are obliged to give way to pedestrians who are on or about to enter the crossing. At uncontrolled crossings, you should reduce speed in good time and show special consideration.
B4 Priority road
The sign indicates that the road is a priority road where intersecting traffic must give way. The sign is placed at the start of the priority road and repeated after each intersection to clarify that the priority road continues.
B5 End of priority road
This sign indicates that the priority road ends and other traffic rules apply. If no other instructions are given, the right-hand rule applies. Adjust your speed when the priority road ends.
B6 Give way to oncoming traffic
The sign is used where the road is narrow or constricted, and you must give way to oncoming traffic. Adjust your speed in good time where necessary. Drive carefully and cooperate with oncoming drivers to avoid dangerous situations or traffic congestion.
B7 Oncoming vehicles must give way
This sign indicates that oncoming vehicles must give way to you at narrow or constricted sections of road. Although you have the right of way, you should still drive cautiously and remain alert, especially in poor visibility.
B8 Bicycle crossing
The sign marks a bicycle crossing where as a driver you must reduce your speed and give way to cyclists and class II moped riders who are on or about to enter the crossing. Drive carefully and watch for bicycle traffic in both directions.
